Kelly Gray

Biography

Kelly Gray is lead claims counsel for Direct General Insurance, a personal lines, non-standard, automobile insurance carrier conducting business throughout the Southeastern United States, taking primary responsibility for managing extra-contractual and coverage claims and litigation for Direct. She also has involvement relating to investigations and litigation pertaining to insurance fraud, drafting Legislative reform proposals on key insurance matters, and designing and implementing claim handling procedures as well as training programs on coverage and claim handling practices.

Prior to joining Direct, Kelly represented policyholders in coverage and extra-contractual coverage claims and was a member of the Florida Justice Association's Board of Directors. She spent over twelve years in private practice litigating insurance related matters and appeals. Kelly has also worked as in-house counsel, managing all extra-contractual and coverage claims and litigation, and oversight for cases with exposure exceeding $250,000 for the Florida subsidiary of a national insurance carrier

Kelly is licensed to practice with the Florida and New York state bars, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She is a Certified CE Instructor in all lines for Florida Adjusting Licenses, as well as a member of the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators.
