Mr. Wheeler's primary area of expertise is injury biomechanics and evaluation of restraint system use and effectiveness especially in high-speed motor vehicle collisions. Most of his casework involves complex accidents such as rollovers resulting in severe and fatal trauma. Jeff's sport/athletic background is also called upon to reconstruct injuries in sport/recreation accidents.
Jeff received his B.S. from UCONN and M.S. from UCLA. Jeff was a Teaching Assistant in the UCLA Department of Kinesiology and Physiological Science, a Research Assistant in the UCLA Biomechanics Laboratory, and a Staff Research Associate in the UCLA Department of Orthopedic Surgery. Jeff has guest lectured at UCLA, University of Colorado, and Colorado School of Mines; and held a Graduate Faculty appointment as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Wayne State University. Jeff has also served as an injury biomechanics and safety consultant to the National Hockey League (NHL).
Mr. Wheeler has more than 35 scientific publications to his credit and more than a dozen presentations to professional academic/scientific organizations in the US, France, Switzerland, Sweden, and New Zealand. In 2010 Jeff was appointed to the inaugural Board of Editors of the Journal of Forensic Biomechanics.
