Biography

Alex Niederman is Counsel in the Litigation and Coverage Unit of the Liberty Mutual Home Office Legal Department, where manages matters involving insurance coverage and claims handling practices. His work involves furnishing legal advice to the company’s claims adjusters and managers, as well as collaborating with outside counsel to develop strategy for the company’s declaratory judgment and bad faith litigation in the Southeast region of the United States.
 
Prior to that, from 2015-2021 Alex worked as a complex liability claims adjuster for YorkPro and then Ironshore/Liberty, managing primary and excess professional liability and casualty claims. Alex generally handled matters involving architects and engineers (A&E), design-builders (DCPL), general contractors, cooperative/condominium/HOA directors and officers (non-profit D&O), legal malpractice (LPL), miscellaneous professional liability (MPL), and employment practices (EPLI).
 
From 2008-2015, Alex was an insurance defense attorney for a number of New York City law firms, focusing on legal malpractice defense, cooperatives/condominiums/HOAs, accountants, broker/dealers, insurance agents, directors and officers, construction safety managers, and healthcare professionals. Alex also represented construction firms and developers in construction casualty matters.
 
Alex is admitted to practice law in New York and Massachusetts, and he lives outside of Boston.
