Biography
Maxwell (Max) Brusky is Assistant General Counsel - Litigation with Transdev NA, the North American division of the multi-national municipal transit operations and maintenance company Transdev Group.
Prior to this role, he was Director, Claims Management at Bulkmatic, LLC, a nationwide bulk transport specialty trucking and transportation company. Prior to that role, he was Assistant Branch Manager in Gallagher Bassett Specialty’s Transportation Practice Major Case Unit, which was established in 2020. He has practiced law and managed litigation for over 20 years in the areas trucking and transportation claims defense, insurance coverage, and subrogation first with the Chicago Transit Authority and then with two Chicago insurance defense firms and then as the owner and operator for eight years of a solo litigation practice in Chicago’s western suburbs. Over that time, Max tried 16 cases to verdict and appeared and argued several times in the Illinois Appellate Court.
Prior to joining GB Specialty’s Transportation Practice, Max was the Director, Claims Management for almost 5 years for a national trucking company with 4,000 power units dispatched from terminals across the lower 48 United States. In that role, he led a team that was responsible for liability claims, workers compensation claims, administration of the company’s self-insured equipment physical damage program, insurance program administration, as well as claim intake and reporting, tracking, and rapid response.
Max is a member of the Advisory Board for Claims Exchange. He is also a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (“FDCC”) and the current Chair of FDCC's Transportation Practice Section. Over his career, he has given numerous talks, lectures, and webinars on many, many claims defense and transportation topics.
