Biography
Anne Jarrell is Senior Director & Counsel, Claims for Bermuda & Europe at Markel, where she provides senior legal and strategic direction on complex, high-impact claims. Her work encompasses coverage, litigation and arbitration strategy, outside counsel management, legal spend and claims expense discipline, and policy wordings. She also develops frameworks, training and cross-functional initiatives designed to strengthen technical judgment, consistency and claims insight across the organization.
Anne is a global claims executive with deep expertise in specialty insurance, complex litigation and coverage strategy. She approaches claims as an enterprise value function, focused not only on fulfilling the policy promise but also on building market trust, generating actionable insights and helping organizations make better-informed decisions. Her experience includes shaping resolution strategies, strengthening coverage and reserving discipline, and using claims insights and data to support broader business objectives.
Anne earned her Juris Doctor from Emory School of Law and her Bachelor of Science in History and Education from the University of North Florida.
