Biography
Daniel Gmelin is the National Architects and Engineers Product Head at Hiscox, the international specialist insurer. In this capacity, Mr. Gmelin manages the A&E, Contractors, and Real Estate Developers insurance products in the US. He helped to establish Hiscox in the US as one of its first employees, and has worked with all Hiscoxs professional liability products including Architects and Engineers, Miscellaneous E&O, Allied Healthcare, Technology, andCyber, as well as General Liability.
Prior to joining Hiscox, Mr. Gmelin held a senior underwriter position at Professional Indemnity Agency, an MGA of Houston Casualty Company. Earlier in his career, he was a financial advisor with CIBC Oppenheimers High Net Worth Private Client Group. Mr. Gmelin is a recognized thought leader in the construction insurance space. He has sat on many industry panels and published articles on topics that range from design and construction to products and safety.
