Biography
Cathy Duffy is a veteran of the Bermuda International Insurance Industry having started in the industry as a summer intern at Wilcox Baringer in 1980. She is currently Senior Vice President, Underwriting Manager at XL Insurance (Bermuda) Ltd where she is responsible for the Product Recall and Upstream Energy books of business.
Cathy has a wealth of insurance experience touching many aspects of the industry including being the first Bermudian woman to gain her CPCU, one of the two first underwriting trainees hired by XL in 1988, a Bachelor Business Administration in Insurance as well as being the author of the first comprehensive book tracing the historical development of the International Insurance Industry in Bermuda, Held Captive - A History of International Insurance in Bermuda.
