Biography

Creedon & Gill founding partner Peter J. Creedon is currently the Director of Education for the Long Island Chapter of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. He forged his litigation skills in the Major Offense and Homicide Bureaus of the Bronx District Attorneys office. The Bronx Major Offense Bureau was the nation’s first trial bureau dedicated solely to the prosecution of violent recidivists and heinous crimes; the Homicide Bureau was challenged by unprecedented murder rates. Directing crime scene investigations, [e.g. People vs. Brown]managing grand jury presentations [e.g. People vs. Gonzalez] and trying scores of these cases to verdict [e.g. People vs. Gatto] Mr. Creedon learned the commitment to service and success that animates Creedon & Gill today. As a civil litigator, Mr. Creedon established Peter J. Creedon and Associates, a staff counsel office of the Travelers Insurance Companies and managed the growth of the firm to its eventual size of thirty six attorneys. During this time, Mr. Creedon served as a member of the national technology advisory committee, the national audit team, claim counsel for no-fault fraud initiatives, and received the General Counsel's award for excellence.Mr. Creedon handled a personal case load of complex cases involving grave or catastrophic injury or death in the fields of construction and labor law, [see Brooklyn Collapse] premises and products liability, motor vehicle collisions and road design,[see Thruway Fatality] municipal liability, maritime, security, and insurance law. [see Subrogation Explosion]. Receiving the opportunity to develop and staff the first in house subrogation office, Mr. Creedon put together a team that litigated complex fire, building collapse and air crash cases and which was soon recovering millions at a cost of less than ten cents on the dollar.Creedon & Associates met the epidemic of no-fault fraud head on by pairing experienced litigators with seasoned SIU investigators to challenge criminal conduct in the courts, on the streets and at the claim desks. The team achieved unparalleled litigation successes by leveraging SIU intelligence into the court rooms, providing legal advice and consultation to state and federal lobbyists, to parent corporation Citigroup, and in support of all of their claim partners no-fault fraud initiatives. [see In the Matter of JRWB]Mr. Creedon has taught pre-trial litigation as a adjunct professor of law , written and taught accredited CLE courses on insurance fraud on Long Island and in New York City, handled presentations before national SIU and claim organizations and presented his opinions and experiences in radio and television interviews, and as a consultant to television writers.Mr. Creedon leads the firm’s litigation practice. Litigated cases include residential and commercial fire, flood and collapse cases, [see Hotel Cat ] gas and electric utility explosions, cases of wrongful death and grave injury, coverage cases in disability, construction and motor vehicle settings, commercial recovery cases, shareholder, products and employer's liability matters. At Creedon & Gill Mr. Creedon also supports Mr. Gill's leadership of the the firm's subrogation practices. Creedon & Gill helps meet the needs of Utica National Insurance Group, Travelers of New Jersey, Firemans Fund Insurance Company, Allstate Insurance Company, State-Wide Insurance Company, Royal Sun Alliance, Main Street America Group, Family Farm Insurance Company, American Family Insurance Company, Long Island Insurance Company and Highpoint Insurance Company.
