Biography

With dual degrees in architecture and civil engineering from Lehigh University, and over 25 years of diverse professional experience, Mr. Irwin provides a wide array of engineering, design, construction, and safety consulting and expert witness litigation support services. He is a registered Professional Engineer in 24 U.S. jurisdictions, as well as one Canadian province, and is recognized as a Model Law Engineer by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying. He is also a Board-certified Senior Member of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers, holding the designation of Diplomate Forensic Engineer.
Mr. Irwin’s experience has included architecture, engineering, surveying, design, and construction of buildings, bridges, civil infrastructure projects, and complex, specialty, and hybrid structural systems. He routinely consults on large-scale, complex, and/or multi-party assignments, many of which require a multi-disciplinary scientific investigation methodology. Mr. Irwin has also managed exploratory demolition programs and laboratory and onsite structural and building science pathology testing, including on structures, buildings, bridges, and components with unknown, historic, or legacy construction components and techniques.
Mr. Irwin also serves on the ASTM committee for forensic engineering, is a member of numerous related professional societies, and is a frequent guest lecturer on related technical subject matter.
