Biography
Mr. Wingfield has been involved in safety and risk management for over 25 years. He has been effective in driving total cost of risk down by over 50% with Big Lots and currently enjoys the best results in company history. He attended Indiana University focusing on Criminal Justice. Employed within the retail industry for over 40 years and with Big Lots Stores, Inc. for 30 years. He has been the Risk Manager for 18 years since 1998. We operate retail stores in 48 states with over 35,000 associates, 1,479 locations to include 5 distribution centers. Two of the best decisions we have ever made as a company is to take advantage of the options in both Texas and Oklahoma. We chose to leave the workers compensation system for options in Texas in 2008 and Oklahoma in 2015. It is by far the best thing we have ever done for our associates and our bottom line. Currently president of the Association of Responsible Workers’ Compensation Alternatives (ARWCA) and Secratery of the Texas Alliance of Non-Subscribers.
