Biography

Charles H. Numbers is a partner in the law firm of Meredith, Weinstein & Numbers, LLP and limits his practice to representing policyholders in complex insurance coverage disputes. The majority of Mr. Numbers' practice is devoted to resolving complex insurance coverage disputes arising from intellectual property, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, piracy, misappropriation, construction defect, environmental and broker negligence matters. His primary function in such matters is to negotiate with insurance carriers and counsel in order to maximize the funds available for settlement. This includes resolving disputes over defense, indemnity, allocation, contribution and increasing the participation of carriers providing additional insured and contractual indemnity coverage. Mr. Numbers is well respected by Special Masters, mediators and arbitrators for his ability to creatively work toward settling difficult matters.

Mr. Numbers graduated from Hastings College of the Law and was a member of the Hastings Law Journal. From 1986-1991, he practiced litigation at Farella, Braun & Martel, San Francisco, California representing commodity, accounting and security firms in trade secret disputes, and developers, contractors, owners and design professionals in complex construction defect and delay claims. Mr. Numbers' experience includes Federal anti trust litigation involving the electrical contracts at the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant, several nuclear power plants in Washington State and the Washington, D.C. Metro System. He also litigated numerous matters involving defects in high-rise commercial buildings and large multi-family and single-family housing developments.
