Christian Novay

Biography

Christian Novay is a Partner in the Chicago office. He focuses on the defense of employment practices liability, trucking and transportation litigation, construction, general liability negligence.

Throughout his career, Christian has tried cases in various courts in Illinois and New York as lead counsel. Among others, he obtained a defense verdict for a law firm in a legal malpractice case that failed to file a lawsuit within the statute of limitations period on behalf of a client who suffered permanently disabling injuries in an elevator malfunction accident.

Christian has also successfully appealed cases before the Supreme Court Appellate Division in the State of New York. He has successfully defended a variety of product liability matters involving goods manufactured in the United States and abroad. In the area of professional liability, Christian has defended lawyers, actuaries and insurance brokers. Additionally, he has handled employment cases in state and federal courts and state and federal administrative agencies.

Christian has represented construction companies, property managers, apartment complexes, condominium associations, retailers, security firms and golf courses in matters of premises liability and intentional tort, among others. He has also represented numerous trucking and transportation companies in vehicular accidents and cargo loss. Christian is a former Assistant District Attorney in New York.
