Biography
Jan Puchalski is a senior risk consultant for Coverys. She works with Coverys policyholders, physicians, physician groups and healthcare facilities in implementing patient safety and risk management strategies. She is involved in conducting risk assessments for hospitals, physician practices and large organizations and offers supportive services including educational presentations.
She has over 35 years of healthcare and administrative experience. Before joining Coverys, she worked in community hospitals in Massachusetts and Vermont. Her experience included director of clinical and pathology services, and infection prevention with the last 10 years being exclusively in the role as director of risk management. She was responsible for patient relations, complaints, grievances, patient safety, infection prevention, root cause analyses, patient care meetings, and regulatory compliance. She was chair of the Regulatory Committee, Event Reporting/Patient Safety Committee and Infection Prevention Committee.
Puchalski is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology and has ASCP and CPHRM certifications. She is a member of ASHRM and MSHRM.
