Biography

Karen Rice is currently the Head of Global Claim Success Initiatives at Proactive, a construction claims partner, providing a collaborative, non-adversarial approach to enhance the complex claims experience for carriers and insureds. Prior to her current role, Karen was the Head of Construction Claims, North America, for AXA XL. Prior to joining XL in 2011 she was the National Construction Defect Claim Manager for OneBeacon Insurance (OBI), and the AVP of National Construction Defect claims and Western States ACE Risk Management claims with ACE USA. Ms. Rice is the co-chair of the Construction Advisory Board for CLM. She is also on the Advisory Board for ALFA International Construction Committee and the Advisory Board for USLAW Construction Committee and has been a frequent lecturer at various Construction and Insurance Law seminars throughout the country. Ms. Rice earned her Bachelor’s degree from University of California at Santa Barbara and her Masters in Business Administration from the University of LaVerne.
