Deborah Pickford

Biography

Deborah M. Pickford is the Executive Director of InVEST, a non-profit organization with a mission to improve the insurance literacy of students and attract new talent to the insurance industry. Prior to joining InVEST in March of 2016, Deborah served for 10 years on Allstate’s Capital Region Leadership team as a Senior Corporate Relations Manager. At Allstate, she led safe teen driving initiatives and developed Allstate’s Safe and Secure Communities national program – a public-private partnership involving Allstate agents in assisting local communities with risk management and mitigation. She also worked on the national flood insurance program encouraging more insurance agents to join the program and more homeowners in high-risk areas to purchase flood insurance policies. In addition, she served as the Chairman of the Board for DriveSmart Virginia for five years and currently serves as an Advisory Committee member on the Virginia High School League Foundation Board. Deborah also worked as press officer under Andrew Cuomo at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as well as served on the editorial board at USA Today as a reporter.
