Steve Pachman is a partner at Philadelphia-based Montgomery McCracken. His practice concentrates on defending catastrophic sports injury matters and counseling on institutional liability issues concerning sport-related concussions. His representations include defending a number of high-profile, nationally-publicized concussion cases brought against NCAA member universities, high schools, athletic trainers, coaches, and team physicians.
Pachman also is a frequent speaker on legal matters concerning the management of sport-related concussions, recently presenting at the NCAA Safety in College Football Summit, College Athletic Trainers Society Annual Symposium, Fiesta Bowl Spring Summit for NCAA head coaches and athletic directors, Oklahoma Sooner Sports Medicine Symposium, UNC Neurotrauma Symposium, Big 10/Ivy League Traumatic Brain Injury Summit, and University of Michigan Concussion Summit.
In addition, Pachman has authored a number of articles regarding how schools and health care professionals can minimize their risk of legal liability for sport-related injuries and defend against concussion lawsuits. His recent article, “Legal Aspects of Concussion: The Ever-Evolving Standard of Care,” was published in the Journal of Athletic Training.
Pachman received his J.D. degree from Temple University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Temple Law Review. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park.
