Kelly Milam is a partner in the Chicago Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. As an accomplished trial and commercial defense attorney with 15+ years of experience representing clients in trucking, construction, employment, and general civil defense, Ms. Milam brings deep courtroom experience and strategic insight to complex, high-exposure matters across state and federal courts.
Ms. Milam concentrates her practice on trial and appellate litigation involving transportation and trucking matters, construction defect claims, toxic torts, products liability, commercial disputes, and catastrophic loss cases. She has first-chaired numerous jury and bench trials and has extensive experience preparing and defending fact and expert depositions, managing expert witnesses, and leading matters through arbitration, mediation, and pre-trial settlement negotiations.
In addition to her trial practice, Ms. Milam is highly regarded for her litigation strategy, risk management counsel, and client-focused approach. She regularly advises clients on case evaluation, exposure analysis, and resolution strategy, while maintaining clear and consistent communication throughout the lifecycle of a case. Her experience includes drafting dispositive motions, complex pleadings, discovery, and trial submissions, as well as overseeing matters from initial investigation through verdict or resolution.
Ms. Milam is also an experienced leader and mentor, having supervised and developed teams of attorneys and legal professionals while managing demanding caseloads and a personal book of business. She is recognized for her professionalism, integrity, and collaborative approach, which fosters long-term client relationships and effective defense outcomes.
In 2008, Ms. Milam earned her Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she concentrated in Business Transactions and was an Honor Scholarship recipient and Dean's List honoree. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Michigan State University, with an academic concentration in accounting.
