Daniel J. Knight is the Senior Manager of Workers’ Compensation for Raytheon Company based in Waltham, Massachusetts. Raytheon Company, with 2009 sales of $25 billion, is a technology and innovation leader specializing in defense, homeland security and other government markets throughout the world. Raytheon employs 75,000 worldwide.
Mr. Knight is responsible for the management and oversight of the domestic and selected international workers’ compensation program, including a self insured and self administered component in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, along with providing consultant services to Raytheon’s business units and functional organizations.
Before joining Raytheon in 1995, Mr. Knight was an attorney in private practice specializing in litigation and disability law. He also worked as a field investigator and a claims examiner with the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs in Boston.
Mr. Knight is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Judge Advocate General Corps of the Massachusetts Army National Guard, and currently serving as senior defense counsel in the 685thTrial Defense Detachment covering Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. He served on active duty in Baghdad, Iraq as a Civil Affairs officer from May 2007 – April 2008.
Mr. Knight is a graduate of Suffolk University (B.A., 1979) and New England School of Law (J.D., 1983). He is licensed to practice in Massachusetts, U.S District Court – MA, 1stCircuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
