Biography

Susan Gustad is an accomplished attorney and senior claims professional with more than 20 years of experience in employment law, management liability, and complex claims evaluation. She currently serves as a Senior Claims Consultant in Management Liability at Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions, where she leverages her extensive litigation background to guide strategic claims decisions, mitigate organizational exposure, and deliver practical, business-focused solutions.

Before joining Intact, Susan practiced employment and business law with Roe Law Group PLLC. In that role, she advised clients on complex legal issues involving workplace disputes, compliance, and restrictive covenants. She was known for her ability to distill complicated legal principles into clear, preventive guidance tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.

Susan previously spent a decade as a Shareholder at Bassford Remele, where she handled a broad spectrum of employment litigation and contributed to the firm’s strong reputation in trial advocacy and client service. She began her career as an Associate at Johnson and Lindberg, building a solid foundation in civil litigation that informed her later transition into insurance and claims leadership.

Her strong academic background includes earning her Juris Doctor with honors from Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
