Maren Mooney

Biography

Maren Mooney is a Director of Claims for Turner Surety and Insurance Brokerage, Inc.. In her role, she oversees a portfolio of clients’ large, high exposure, and complex claims including but not limited to general liability, construction defect, builders’ risk, professional liability and pollution claims within the central, mid-north, and west regions.
Maren has worked in the construction industry since 2007, most recently as an Account Execuctive with Construction Risk Partners, a construction specialist broker. Prior to that she was the Claims Manager at The Weitz Company, LLC, a full-service general contractor, design-builder, and construction manager with expertise in commercial, federal, and industrial construction projects. While at Weitz, Maren oversaw legal administration and claims management, working closely with Weitz’ General Counsel and Risk Manager to develop and implement claims management standards, forms, and workflow to ensure all claims were consistently and properly managed.
Maren has a Master of Jurisprudence in Compliance and Risk Management, holds an insurance producer license in the state of Iowa for property and casualty lines and a Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) certification from IRMI. She has also obtained the Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP) and Certified Claims Professional (CCP) designations through the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM).
