Biography
Mr. Smith is the founding principal of JAS Risk Advisors. JAS is an independent insurance and risk management consulting firm acting which acts as Risk Manager for its clients helping navigate the complex insurance procurement process and develop risk reduction strategies inherent in residential development.
A key part of their services is to help clients manage the claims process. JAS works on all types of claims, including complex construction defect claims where they coordinate strategy and the flow of information with the claims management team, including defense counsel, coverage counsel, carrier/TPA, experts, brokers and most importantly, the client to achieve the best outcomes.
Mr. Smith holds the IRMI Construction Risk Insurance Specialist designation and has been approved by both the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) and California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS) to provide insurance consulting services on their assets.
