Biography

Mike Cummings has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, specializing in APD, property, casualty, workers' compensation, litigation management, claims quality improvement, operations management, and technology implementation. As the Senior Vice President and Chief Claims Officer at Norfolk and Dedham Group, he oversees Auto, Casualty, and Property claims while driving technological advancements to automate payments and streamline claims processes.
 
Previously, Mike was a Principal Consultant with Aon’s Strategy and Technology Group, where he led a claims team that assessed claims operations for over 70 P&C carriers globally. He spearheaded end-to-end claims transformations at these carriers through process redesign, organizational restructuring, vendor selection, and AI-driven technology implementations.
 
Earlier in his career, Mike was a Manager at Amica Mutual Insurance, overseeing adjusters handling APD, Bodily Injury, Property, and Liability claims. He later held a leadership role at IBM’s Global Services Group, advising insurers on strategy, business transformation, and technology implementations, including Guidewire and other claims system solutions.
 
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University, an MBA from The Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College, and the AIC insurance designation.
