Biography

Diandra L. Abate is a partner in the Chicago office of Amundsen Davis and a dedicated advocate for employers, insurers, and carriers in workers’ compensation matters. For nearly a decade, she has focused her practice on defending clients against workers’ compensation claims, taking a collaborative and strategic approach to ensure clients are engaged in the defense strategy and understand the costs and benefits of each course of action.

As a member of the firm’s Workers' Compensation Service Group, Diandra manages claims from inception through resolution, whether through litigation or alternative dispute resolution. She is an experienced litigator who has handled and argued complex matters before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission and state courts. She works closely with claims specialists, third-party administrators, and insureds to achieve efficient, cost-effective outcomes, and also advises clients on compliance issues, including Medicare considerations.

Prior to joining Amundsen Davis, Diandra managed high-volume clients, leading her team to achieve strong claim closure rates and reduced claim values. She has extensive experience handling all aspects of litigation and has successfully tried numerous cases.

Diandra is an active speaker, regularly presenting on Illinois workers’ compensation topics to claim representatives, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers.

She earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, with a certificate in business law, and graduated from Augustana College with majors in business management, marketing, and philosophy.
