Kari Merolesi

Biography

Kari A. Merolesi is the managing partner and represents clients in litigation over liability and damages for medical malpractice, negligence and catastrophic personal injury. She defends physicians and hospitals in cases involving alleged brain-damaged babies and failure to diagnose cancer and other ailments. She also has significant experience defending plastic surgeons and plastic surgery groups.

Using her knowledge of the medicine and litigation expertise, her goal is pre-trial success via summary judgment motions and motions to dismiss. She also diligently prepares witnesses and experts for depositions and trials and develops defense strategy should the case proceed to trial.

Claims against plastic surgeons have surged as more people undertake elective procedures to alter their appearance through facelifts, injectible fillers, implants, reductions and many other procedures. She defends claims over scarring, deformity, necrosis and other claims when the patient is unhappy with the results of the procedure.

In other personal injury and wrongful death cases, Ms. Merolesi has defended construction companies and has studied construction sites and diagrams, safety rules and regulations and accident scenes to refute claims of negligence.

Ms. Merolesi also handles guardianship and family law matters. She began her career as a trial lawyer and advocate for the rights of abused and neglected children at the Administration for Children’s Services.
