Kirsten Mickelson

Biography

Kirsten is the practice leader for the cyber group and is responsible for developing practice group standards, best practices, as well as strategic and tactical approaches to increasing the company’s footprint within the rapidly expanding cyber market. Prior to joining GBS, she was the cyber team manager/counsel for a leading cybersecurity MGA. There, she counseled hundreds of customers in preparing for, and responding to, data breaches; assisted internal/external stakeholders, with drafting/reviewing legal contracts and developing value added cybersecurity services, including creation of vendor panels, sample incident response plans; conducted tabletop exercises for customers to test incident response plans.  Kirsten frequently presents on ransomware trends, OFAC advisory updates and changing privacy landscape. She also spent much of her career drafting complex coverage analysis and correspondence outlining insurance coverages; and worked with product teams, marketing and business development, on go-to market strategy. Additionally she has hired, managed, lead and professionally developed high-performing teams, with a focus on superior customer service/cost-effective results; ensured timely reserving and active claims handling, round-tabled complex/high-exposure matters in order to work through solutions for superior handling and cost-effective resolution; and provided professional guidance for career growth.
