James Wood

Biography

Mr. Wood is a Major Case Unit Manager for Marine Claims with the Hanover Insurance Group.  He manages a team of General Adjusters that handle large complex specialty and property claims throughout the United States. He joined the Hanover in 2011 after more than 8 years working at Travelers Insurance. He has more than 15 years’ experience handling and managing large complex insurance claims across multiple lines of business. Prior to working in the insurance industry James had 15 years of experience in operations and facilities management, including the coordination of the design and build out of distribution facilities.
 
James is licensed in 18 states. During his insurance career he has taken on many challenges including Catastrophe Team Manager and Business Interruption Specialist with Travelers Insurance and Vendor Manager and in-house consultant for Hanover Insurance. He has negotiated multi-million-dollar settlements, attended mediations and depositions as both expert witness and company representative 30(b)(6). James has presented at PLRB and LEA and is an active member of CLM.
