Biography
Dwayne Akins is an Engagement Lead within the Marsh Claims Consulting Practice and is
based in the Boston, MA. Dwayne specializes in workers’ compensation, automobile liability,
and general liability. In this role, Dwayne participates in and project manages a variety of
projects, including claim inventory workouts, early intervention, and workers compensation
and liability claim audits.
Dwayne joined Marsh in 2020 with over 18 years of claims advocacy, claims operations, and
self-insured claims management. Prior to joining Marsh, he served as the Senior Manager,
Workers Compensation Division for Mass General Brigham hospital system. Dwayne also
served as a Senior Consultant for Willis Towers Watson within their claims advocacy
department. In this role Dwayne worked with clients in the retail, manufacturing, senior living,
aviation, hospital, municipalities, and transportation. Dwayne began his career with a large
insurance carrier in 2004 where he held various workers’ compensation and liability claims
management positions. Dwayne’s additional expertise include: Third Party Administrator
(TPA) oversight, occupational health medical services, litigation management and
settlements.
