Biography
James F. Burke is a Partner in the White Plains office. His practice focuses on the areas of general and product liability, pediatric lead poisoning, medical malpractice, and labor law.
Jim joined Wilson Elser in 2002. Since that time he has handled more than 25 cases at trial as the lead attorney.
Previously, Jim had a 20 year career with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and achieved the rank of Detective Sergeant. He served in the department’s investigative branches as an investigator, supervisor and squad commander, specifically in the Narcotics Division, the Detective Bureau, and the Organized Crime Control Bureau.
Jim completed his police career as the lead trial lawyer in the NYPD’s Civil Enforcement Unit. There he tried nine cases to verdict in the Supreme Court, New York (Manhattan) County.
