Biography

Wm. Chip D’Angelo is theDivision President of Gallagher Bassett Technical Services, the environmental consulting, engineering, and risk management practice within GB specializing in risk quantification, complex project performance, project failures, insurance claims, and litigations. His expertise encompasses Brownfields and CERCLA sites, property (mold , asbestos, Legionella) and environmental impacts, releases, and damages; remediation and construction management; schedule/delay analysis; and the cost allocations between PRPs within these assignments. 

Formerly the founder and CEO of WCD Group, Mr. D’Angelo has more than 38 years of experience in the engineering, construction, abatement, remediation, and renovation industries. He has formed, owned, and operated as the Principal various consulting, engineering, project and construction management, general contracting, and professional construction claims firms. His firms have designed and managed more than $ 4.0 billion of engineering and construction projects throughout the United States, Mexico, and Europe.  He has been an expert in State and Federal courts in CAT claims, wind flood allocations, large property losses, mold remediation, asbestos exposure/ wrongful death and releated subjects.

Mr. D’Angelo worked as a consultant with the United States Congress and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the development of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), which became the standard for asbestos removal in the United States. He also worked as a consultant to the United States Department of Labor/Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in the development of environmental exposure regulations. He has been an adjunct professor at Tufts University, Temple University, and Georgia Tech University as well as the New York University School of Real Estate. 

Former President George W. Bush appointed Mr. D’Angelo to the CEO Leadership Council as the only environmental CEO. Former New Jersey Governor James Florio appointed Mr. D’Angelo to the Clean Air Council of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
