Thomas Treadwell

Biography

Thomas A. Treadwell currently serves as General Counsel for Hyundai Mobis Alabama, LLC, a global auto-parts supplier in Montgomery, Alabama. Prior to joining Hyundai Mobis, he served almost a decade as Assistant General Counsel for a large, regional multi-line insurance company, where he managed first-party litigation, advised on labor and employment and employee benefits issues, and maintained a general corporate practice. Prior to that, he served as Corporate Counsel for a global automobile manufacturer. He began his career practicing in the area of insurance defense litigation.

Mr. Treadwell is a member of the Alabama State Bar, Kentucky State Bar, Montgomery County Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, and Association of Corporate Counsel. He is licensed to practice before the state and federal courts of Alabama and Kentucky and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He has served as Chairman of the Board of the Alabama Life and Disability Insurance Guaranty Association and President of the Association of Alabama Life Insurance Companies. He has been heavily involved in legislative matters and served on the Alabama Legislature’s Open Records Study Task Force. Mr. Treadwell was recently nominated to the Board of Directors of the Business Council of Alabama.
