Mark Brooks

Biography

Mark Brooks joined BMS Re in November 2019 and currently serves as Senior Vice President and Claims Specialist on the Claims Advisory team for BMS Re US. He is based in the New York office.

In his role as a Claims Specialist, Mark supports clients with their insurance and reinsurance technical claim matters. This includes assisting with claim reporting and application of reinsurance contracts, providing advice and advocacy for complex claims, facilitating reinsurer claim audits, and supporting internal stakeholders.
 
Prior to joining BMS, Mark spent nineteen years with Swiss Re in a variety of positions including Reinsurance Claims & Liability Management and managed a small team within their Client Services group. As a claims professional at Swiss Re, Mark was responsible for managing ceded reinsurance claims from a broad range of direct clients. This included conducting on-site claim audits and provided claims related advice to clients. He was also an integral part of the cross-functional client teams. Mark worked closely with Swiss Re’s client managers, underwriters, actuaries, and accounting teams to help monitor the performance of the client’s portfolio.
 
Before joining Swiss Re in 2000, Mark held various claims positions at other reinsurance carriers. He first began his insurance career as a Claims Representative with Travelers Insurance.
 
Mark has a BS in Business Administration from The State University of New York, College at Brockport. He lives in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
