Donna Markus

Biography

Donna Markus is the Chief Operating Officer at Kopka Law Group, an insurance defense law firm. She has served in this role since 2015, where she manages the daily business across nine professional offices in five states. In her role, she works closely with the managing partners, legal operations managers, and other department heads to support the growth and success of the firm.

She also develops and maintains relationships outside of the firm with nationally known clients ranging from insurance carriers, third-party administrators, retail and restaurant establishments, and corporations. Donna is very active with CLM where she is on a steering committee to improve the relationship between industry leaders and Insurance Defense Firms. 

Donna has worked her way up since 2010, when she was hired as Kopka Law Group’s Legal Services Biller. From there, she was promoted to Billing Manager, to Assistant Controller, Controller, and now Chief Operating Officer. Throughout her career at Kopka Law Group, she has focused on efficiency and streamlining the administrative roles within the firm.

Outside of her day-to-day firm responsibilities, Donna works tirelessly to create an inclusive firm culture. She is often asked to speak about building a healthy office culture, cyber security and remote working environments.

Donna obtained her M.B.A. in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville and her B.A. in Business Management from the University of Wisconsin Stout. She also has a minor in Graphic Design. She currently lives in Wisconsin with her husband and her two daughters.
