Biography
A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Mr. Smith has practiced in California since 1981. Stephen obtained his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and his law degree from Suffolk University. He was a member of the personal staff of U.S. Senator Henry M. Jackson. His practice is focused on products liability matters and, in particular, fitness equipment and sports-related injuries. Mr. Smith's practice is also centered upon complex litigation, including the defense of class actions and toxic torts,. He has tried numerous cases to verdict and has served as counsel of record in litigation in more than twenty states. He has served as an arbitrator for the Los Angeles County Superior Court, has been named as a Southern California Super Lawyer for the past ten years, and is a memner of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.
