Biography

Anthony McMahon is a Claim Director with RLI Insurance Company overseeing a wide variety of complex claims in the South and Midwest. His areas of focus include RLI's REIT program, excess book of business and commercial business accounts. 

Previously, he was coverage counsel with CNA’s Commercial Coverage Group overseeing coverage matters throughout the United State and globally. His practice areas include, but are not limited to, domestic and international commercial general liability;  public officials/law enforcement liability;  and  commercual auto and Defense Base Act/Foreign voluntary workers compensation matters.
 
Mr. McMahon began his insurance career with The St. Paul Companies in 1991, in its Washington, D.C. office. Thereafter, he was assigned to The St. Paul’s Construction Liability Unit in Chicago where he was responsible for managing a book of clients which included Plote Construction, Herlihy Mid-Continent, Lorig Construction and K-5 Construction. He oversaw the liability claims for the re-build of the Kennedy Expressway joint venture, as well as other construction projects throughout the Chicagoland area. While working for St. Paul he attended law school at night and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2000 from the John Marshall Law School and is admitted to practice law in Illinois.
 
Thereafter, he worked for the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies until 2005, in its Litigation Claims Unit overseeing a wide variety of complex claims, as well as employment-related practices litigation. In 2005, he joined CNA’s Major Case Unit and in 2008 became a Director with CNA’s newly establish Coverage Oversight Unit. In 2014 he joined CNA’s in-house coverage firm of Colliau, Carluccio, Keener, Morrow, Peterson & Parsons as a coverage litigation attorney. In 2016 the firm was dissolved and merged into CNA’s newly formed Commercial Coverage Group and Coverage Litigation Group which oversees all coverage matters involving CNA nation-wide.
