Biography
Sandra Bland Burgess has been a member of the CLM since 2007. Sandra is the Risk Manager for the City of Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis is the largest city in the state of Tennessee. She is a graduate of the University of Memphis with a major in Insurance. Sandra has over 25 years experience in the insurance and risk management field. Her initial career started as a Commercial Underwriter for Nationwide Insurance Company and she later transferred to the Claims Department where she handled personal lines and commercial liability claims for Nationwide Insurance. Contract analysis, coverage interpretation, litigation supervision and loss control were some of the skills utilized. She is also a member of PRIMA, Tn PRIMA, RIMS and Memphis RIMS Chapter.
