Biography

Thomas Gormley has over 20 years of experience with project design in various elements of industrial hygiene, safety, environmental hazards, and emergency response. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Council-Certified Smoke and Fire Consultant (CFSC), Council-Certified Microbial Consultant (CMC), Certified Safety Professional and Project Management Professional (PMP). Project experience ranges from residential, manufacturing, healthcare facilities, educational, tourist resorts and more. He was a Bioenvironmental Engineer in the Air Force including being an Environmental Science Officer in Iraq during Operation Enduring Freedom. He has experience as the Chief Environmental Health and Safety Engineer for a tier 1 auto manufacturer supplier. Since 2016, he has been a consultant responding to major fire, floods, and hurricanes within the United States and internationally. He has specialized in moisture assessments, sampling combustion byproducts, asbestos, lead, volatile organic compounds, and other chemicals after disasters. He has been an expert witness for fire and mold cases. Finally, he has remained an active member in the American Industrial Hygienist Association (AIHA) reviewing professional development course, continuing education presentations, student posters and is the president elect for the Indianapolis chapter.
