Jerrod Smith

Biography

Jerrod Smith is Senior Counsel in Enterprise Claims & Risk Management at FedEx, with more than two decades of experience in litigation, claims, and risk management across transportation, trucking, construction/EPC, and related industries. In his current role, Jerrod helps defend FedEx in nationwide liability claims and focuses on fraud mitigation, reserve-setting practices, and third-party administrator oversight. He has led initiatives to reduce liability-claim exposure and built a nationwide anti-fraud program leveraging AI-assisted, real-time claim review, alongside broader efforts to improve claim-handling protocols and performance measurement. Prior to FedEx, he served as North American Division Counsel at Air Liquide and began his career representing broker-dealers in securities litigation and arbitration. Jerrod holds a J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law and is multi-time winner of the prestigious FedEx Five Star Award.
