John Molinar

Biography

John L. Molinar is an attorney with 35 years of experience representing insurance carriers, public entities, and private employers across Texas. He is Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and leads a multi-state practice with Hermes Law, PC in Dallas. He is also the 2025-26 Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Texas State Bar and was recently inducted as a Fellow of The College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers.
In addition to his legal defense work, John consults with ClaimDeck on the practical use of AI in claims management, and is the creator of CompDeck, an educational platform that simplifies Texas workers’ compensation through practical, real-world guidance for employers and claims professionals. He is also the author of Our Workers’ Comp Community, a legal blog series exploring the human and strategic side of the system.
A sought-after speaker on workers’ compensation, legal ethics, and emerging technology, John is known for delivering thoughtful insights with clarity, humor, and a strong human perspective.
Beyond his legal practice, John is an active member of Toastmasters International and previously served for a decade on the University of Texas Psychology Advisory Committee. At home, he is most proud of his role as a husband and father. He has been married to his wife Kathy for 33 years, and together they have raised three accomplished children who continue to inspire him every day.
