Biography

Robert E. Wilens is a Partner with Thompson Brody & Kaplan, LLP.  His practice includes subrogation recovery for large-scale property losses due to fires, explosions, roof collapses, and other catastrophic events as well as other insurance related matters.  Over his career, Wilens has been responsible for recoveries totaling more than $100,000,000. Mr. Wilens worked at Clausen Miller for 18 years and started his career as an associate attorney at Segal, McCambridge, Singer and Mahoney, Ltd. in Chicago, Illinois.  One of his career highlights was being actively involved establishing a psychotherapist–patient privilege under Federal Rule 501 at the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Wilens earned a Bachelor of General Studies degree from the University of Michigan in 1987 with concentrations in Political Science and Accounting. He graduated from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri in 1990.

Mr. Wilens is admitted to practice law in Illinois and Missouri and is a member of the Federal Trial Bar. He is also admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, Seventh Circuit, Northern, and a number of District Courts. He resides in Wilmette, Illinois.
