Panel 2: Can Women Have it All, Yet? - Panel: Can Women Have it All, Yet?
What topic engenders stronger opinions and emotions among women than the work/family balance? Ann Marie Slaughter, a Princeton professor, stunned readers with her inside the beltway insights and experiences, as the first female director of policy planning at the State Department, in Washington DC. From Ms. Slaughter’s point of view, the experience left her convinced that maybe women still can’t have it all—at least on Capitol Hill.
Five talented, hard working professional women, who are mothers, wives, daughters, and workers, tackle this touchy topic with wisdom and circumspection. With help from our attendees, we hope to untangle how women CAN have it all, and address ways to get there, including:
Dreaming Big Enough; Having Supportive Mates and Timing Childbearing; Our Culture’s Perception of Success; and The Economy’s Heavy Hand on Women’s Roles. Please join us and bring your personal insights and experiences and help us navigate this ever timely topic.
