Year 1 Learning Objectives

* Gain foundational knowledge of coverage afforded under both Homeowner and Commercial Property policies, including key policy terms, exclusions, and endorsements.
* Recognize when to issue reservation of rights or non-waiver agreements to preserve coverage defenses while claims are investigated.
* Learn how to build an effective scope of investigation using available tools and properly document each phase to support claim decisions and ensure regulatory compliance.
* Understand the differences between Replacement Cost (RC), Actual Cash Value (ACV), and Market Value, and apply appropriate methods to calculate and support loss evaluations.
* Ensure fair and timely resolutions based on policy terms and conditions, while demonstrating compliance with good faith claims handling standards.
* Enhance the claims experience for all involved parties—insureds, agents, contractors, and others—through clear communication and effective resolution strategies.
