Benefits of Attending

You know how important it is to attend the CLM Annual Conference. Now, how do you convince your boss? We’ve put together a few resources you may share to help make a case for attending. After all, your participation benefits both you and your company! We’ve also included a few tips for maximizing your conference experience.

Building Your Case to Attend
  • Share the Top Five Benefits of Attending the CLM Annual Conference.
  • Send a detailed email to your boss requesting permission to register.

At the Conference
  • Make the most of your time. Attend and participate in sessions that are valuable to the work you do. Take notes (you can do this in the Annual Conference app for each session and then email yourself the notes from the app).
  • Don't just listen. Participate. The roundtable sessions are a forum for discussions.
  • Take the time to network with fellow industry professionals, attorneys and vendors who may offer services that would benefit your company — don’t just spend time with people you know. Stretch yourself and make new connections as well.

After the Conference
  • Here’s where your boss is really going to love you…prepare a conference report. Draft your own or use our template to get you started.
  • Connect with the new people you met at the conference by sending them an email or connect with them on LinkedIn.
  • Put your knowledge to action and use what you learned to be a better professional and enhance your career.

Detailed email

Use this template as a guide to craft an email to your boss. Be sure to review the Annual Conference schedule of sessions to select sessions that would be of interest to you and your employer.

Dear most favorite boss of mine:

As you know, I am interested in attending the CLM Annual Conference, which is being held from March 29-31 in Nashville. This conference is the premiere event for the claims and litigation management industry. In addition to contributing to my personal growth, my participation in the conference will benefit the company as I am able to benchmark industry best practices and bring back valuable knowledge to share with my colleagues.

I’ve reviewed the Annual Conference educational session offerings and I plan to attend these sessions (review the Conference Schedule to select the sessions)
  • CEOs’ Perspectives on the industry
  • (Session 1)
  • (Session 2)
  • (Session 3)
  • (Session 4)
  • Top CCOs discuss claim resolution trends
  • (Session 5)

Upon my return from the conference, I will prepare a summary that I would like to share with you and others so we can determine how to best use the information I learn to further improve our practices and operations.

The conference registration fee is only $695 before January 8 and $795 after that. The fee includes all breakfasts, lunches, dinners and networking events. In comparison to other industry events, this is a well-priced and fully inclusive opportunity.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Sincerely,

XXX
