Insurance Coverage

The Insurance Coverage Committee is focused on building a strong network of insurance professionals and attorneys who analyze, and litigate insurance coverage issues. The Committee draws upon the experience of its membership to offer lectures, webinars, articles and other educational support that provides a discussion of current insurance coverage issues as well as best practices for claims professionals and attorneys. The Committee provides the framework for implementing educational and collaborative programs for claim executives, managers, and front-line professionals for effective management of insurance coverage disputes.

All Insurance Coverage proposals are welcome. Please see below for a few ideas:

-Liability, duty and policy for self-driving vehicles
-Allocating between covered and non-covered damages during jury trial
-Interpretation of “occurrence” requirement in context of construction cases, national survey
-Marijuana coverage
-Vaccinations
-Cyber liability/data breach

Thank you all for choosing to be a part of the Insurance Coverage committee! This is your friendly reminder that we are still seeking submissions for the 2019 New York Conference & Holiday Party, December 5th at The Westin New York Times Square Hotel.

Presentations must be comprised of 4-5 speakers with no more than 2 CLM Members (outside counsel) and 2-3 CLM Fellows (industry professionals: claims and risk professionals, corporate). Only one person from a company/firm may participate on a panel.

The co-chairs are seeking proposals with the following topics:

-Liability, duty and policy for self-driving vehicles
-Allocating between covered and non-covered damages during jury trial
-Interpretation of “occurrence” requirement in context of construction cases, national survey
-Marijuana coverage
-Vaccinations
-Cyber liability/data breach

We are still looking for co-presenters for the upcoming Insurance Coverage webinar: CP vs. BOP – coverage and exclusions, similarities and differences between the two forms
Wednesday, July 24th at Noon EST
 
CLM Webinars last 30 minutes followed by a 10-minute Q&A. Webinars are led by 2 co-presenters – 1 CLM Fellow (industry professional), 1 CLM Member (outside counsel) – who must be finalized and provide a finalized title and brief description.
