The target audience is subject to mandatory reporting requirements which necessitate they stay up to date on potential impact of the current version of the SMART Act an remain in compliance on all reporting requirements that have recently changed.

Medical training biases of surgeons, anesthesiologists, physiatrists and chiropractors are discussed. The best current evidence based medical literature is presented pertaining to: Chronic narcotics and "pain management" for back pain, the errors in relying upon spine MRI interpretations, causality of lumbar spine conditions, the validity of functional capacity evaluations and provocative discograhpy for lumbar spine problems, the need for post-operative restrictions and the results of lumbar fusions in Worker's Compensation.
Provide good scientific basis for adjudicating back problems in the workplace. Allows for assissment of physician knowledge of scientific evidence, not just personal opinion.

From the sales floor to the stock room, anywhere merchandise, or other items, are stored there is a potential for such items to be involved in a personal injury claim. Often the claim involves an item falling from its stored position and contacting a person, other times a person claims to have fallen or otherwise hurt themselves during their reaction to an item falling or the storage means somehow failing. An extremely effective tool to investigating such claims involves the use of biomechanical analysis, and when appropriate testing. This involves analyzing injuries that are claimed to have occurred, as well as providing scientific scrutiny of the claimed event itself. A variety of examples will be provided to provide the audience with both the general scientific background as well as an overview on how such expertise can help with their next claim.
