Schedule/Sessions
Tammy Tibbetts, "I'm a Leader" - Founder and President of She's the First, a non-profit organization committed to sponsoring girls' education in developing nations
Dana Babbin, Attorney and Entrepreneur providing outreach and training regarding cyber safety and Internet crimes against children - “It's Their Eyes That Really Get To You: Empathizing with Victims of Child Pornography and Extolling the Courageous Leaders Who Rescue Them (Reflections of a Former Internet Crimes Against Children Prosecutor)”
Listen as Dana explains the courage she witnessed while working with law enforcement on investigations and prosecutions of atrocious child offenses that have been memorialized in pictures and videos. Hear Dana talk as she compares sexting with child pornography, explores the mindset of the "typical" child pornography collector, and explains why these "digital" offenses are so "human" in nature, and seem to be growing at such an astronomical rate. Hear Dana reflect on her experiences as a woman in a male-dominated field, and, finally, return home with a whole new perspective on why the trade of child pornography adds a whole new level of recovery for child victims to face.
Back to topCyndi Lee, "May I Be Happy," Author of "YOGA BODY, BUDDHA MIND" and The New York Times critically acclaimed "May I Be Happy: A Memoir of Love, Yoga and Changing My Mind;" Founder of NYC's OM Yoga Center
Happiness is our birth right yet, amazingly, many of us aren’t sure what it feels like; how to recognize it; or most importantly, that we even deserve to be happy. We tend to put our own honest needs last, leaving us with unhealthy feelings of depletion, isolation and resentment. Learning to take care of ourselves is not selfish, it is actually spiritual maturity. Taking responsibility for our own happiness is how we get familiar with compassion and understanding, in turn helping us to be better friends, parents, children, worldly people.
Cyndi uses Maitri -- traditional Lovingkindness practice -- as the framework for these teachings. Cyndi offers inspiring reminders that we already have everything we need to experience happiness, health, a sense of safety and ease every single day of our lives.
Cyndi will be speaking from her personal exploration and teachings which she details in her latest book May I Be Happy: A Memoir of Love, Yoga, and Changing My Mind.
