Covid's Silver Lining Playbook

This presentation will review the many issues litigants may face with the “post-covid juror” as more courts begin to open up to jury trials in 2021. The impact of the events of 2020 have arguably changed the venire pool and individual jurors’ mindsets. Do we face Social Inflation or Social Deflation in jury verdicts  Personal loss, individual survival, jobs and businesses shredded, civil unrest, financial destruction, social media isolation, and Big Data AI are impacting us all, in a way that “old stereotypes” certainly no longer can apply. We will take a deeper look into the latest juror data to discuss what they are thinking and what they will or won’t consider.
