The Business Insurance CLM Women to Watch Awards is the only recognition program that celebrates leading women from every facet of the commercial insurance industry. Since its start as a recognition program in 2006, it has grown into an educational program aimed at the advancement of women in commercial insurance, risk management and related fields. A professional development and networking conference was added to the Business Insurance Women to Watch recognition program in 2011 to address the advantages of achieving greater gender diversity in leadership roles.

In 2017, Business Insurance is launching an international version of Women to Watch, recognizing honorees from Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The program, which will be held in London, will mirror that of the U.S. event, featuring a half-day professional development conference focusing on gender diversity, followed by an awards ceremony.
