Hosted at Columbia Law School in New York City, the Litigation Management Institute (LMI) is the first certification program specifically designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the business of litigation management. The rigorous program is geared toward attorneys and those in the litigation management field with five to 15 years of experience, but will also be of benefit to those with more experience. The program is designed to bridge the gap between legal theory and litigation strategy, and the business aspects of litigation management.

Each of the ten courses is a combination of pre-work and in-class course instruction, and each evening, small groups will work on projects related to the course material covered that day. The ten courses that make up the LMI are:

Client Relations, Expectations, and Confidentiality Reserving and Data Management from an Actuarial Perspective E-Billing, E-Strategy and E-Discovery Alternative Fee Agreements Evaluation and Assessment, Impact Reporting Coverage Perspectives Fundamentals of Risk Transfer Resolution Strategies Practical Aspects of Litigation Management Litigation Management Metrics

The Litigation Management Institute is a real educational experience, not a tradeshow, conference or seminar. Each course will be taught by executives with extensive litigation management experience. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive the Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP) designation and awarded the Litigation Management Institute certificate.

The Institute will be limited to 100 participants and up to 24 CLE credit hours will be awarded.

Upon successfully completing the CLM Litigation Management Institute™ students will earn a certification as a Certified Litigation Management Professional (“CLMP”). The CLM Litigation Management Institute™ is a business, human and financial resources theory and skills course. The CLM Institute does not certify attorneys in the practice or in any field of law, and is not accredited by the American Bar Association or any state bar association or other state or federal agency. Students earning CLMP certification and seeking to communicate or advertise their successful completion of the CLM Litigation Management Institute™ to others should consult their respective state laws and regulations as to the manner and content of any communication or advertisement.
