Year 2 Learning Objectives
* Understand the core elements of property coverage—including who and what is covered, when and where coverage applies, and distinctions between homeowners and commercial property policies.* Analyze key coverage elements such as Civil Authority, Business Personal Property, Loss Determination, and Statutory considerations with guidance from legal and claims counsel.
* Apply best practices to thoroughly investigate complex homeowners and commercial property claims, ensuring proper documentation and coverage analysis.
* Accurately assess loss values in both residential and commercial contexts, including disputed claims, and use resolution techniques such as appraisal, mediation, and litigation effectively.
* Develop, test, and refine CAT plans, coordinate live event responses, and integrate fraud protocols and continuous improvement strategies.
* Use property claim metrics and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators, identify trends, and operationalize data for better decision-making.
* Understand the standards and practices that support fair and timely claims resolution and recognize situations that may lead to bad faith allegations.
* Identify, engage, and oversee vendors to support claims operations, including negotiating service agreements and maintaining quality and compliance throughout the claims lifecycle.
* Identify sophisticated fraud schemes, utilize investigative tools within the policy, and apply best practices to mitigate risk and avoid bad faith exposure.
* Stay current on the evolving role of technology—including data convergence, AI, and other tools—and how it enhances claims processes, fraud detection, and operational efficiency.
