Please join the Greater Dallas Chapter for an Educational Seminar regarding the fast evolving world of cyber liability.  Our presenters will walk through a cyber-breach incident, resultant claim and litigation from start to finish, including claims made under traditional CGL, property and commercial crime policies, and newer “cyber insurance” policies. The presentation will retrospectively examine a few recent high-profile claims from the day the breach was made public through resolution and/or settlements with plaintiffs, regulators and bank payment card issuers. Retail, healthcare and financial institution sectors will be of particular focus, where the exposure of having care, custody and control of third-party PII (personal identifiable information), PHI (personal health information) and/or payment card information is the basis for an insurable loss. The presentation will discuss examples of cases and claim outcomes involving large data breaches, such as those affecting Neiman Marcus, Target and Home Depot, Anthem Health and JP Morgan Chase. Finally, the presentation will include Texas notification laws in the event of a data breach.
